I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science. Like most of us, I flew Estes rockets as a kid. In 2004, my son and I attended a rocket launch with his Boy Scout troop near Victorville, California. After returning home, we discovered high-power rocketry online—and I caught the bug.
For several years my son attended launches with me. As he grew older, his interests shifted, but mine stayed firmly with rockets. Scott Rocketry became the place where I could document the science, math, fabrication, and field work behind each project.
Now that I am retired, I have more time in the shop. Ostara is my newest project, with simulations showing the potential to reach nearly 90,000 feet. I am also beginning to offer custom aluminum and composite rocket components for other high-power rocketry projects.
I continue to explore experimental rocketry, staged design, composite construction, high-temperature epoxy work, and custom fabrication. I launched this website in April 2009. If you see me at a launch, please come over and say hello.
